We share our beautiful area with those who would not otherwise have the opportunity to see it as most of our trails are not easily accessed. Our trails are mostly old logging roads that take us past forgotten homesteads, active beaver ponds, several different lakes and through all types of forests. On our tour you will travel into ravines, up mountains, over the rock of the Canadian Shield and across creeks and streams. We take you deep into over 10,000 acres of land that is called by the locals “Lost Nations”.
Lost Nations was home to hundreds of families in the late 1800’s who immigrated to Canada from Ireland, Poland and Germany. They traveled down the historic Opeongo Line in search of a new life. Much of the area we tour through was once cleared by these earlier settlers but most of it has been reclaimed by the forest and only shadows of their toils and struggles remain. |
